When the world’s largest tractor brand asks for oversize agricultural machinery to be shipped from Chennai to Chicago inside a week, only a logistics company with the necessary global infrastructure, industry experience and network of strategic partners can meet the challenge.
So, when Mahindra & Mahindra approached award winning freight transportation specialist Dimerco with just such a request in January, Dimerco were able to marshal their considerable resources and provide a tailored solution.
Following initial evaluation and planning, the entire process took Dimerco just six days door-to-door, from receiving the freight in India to palletizing, packing and transporting the oversize tractors, whose combined weight was over 10,000 kg, to delivery at their final destination in the US.
To achieve this feat, Dimerco coordinated and worked closely with its team of best-in-class partners, supervising bespoke packaging and palletizing specialists at the Mahindra & Mahindra factory, managing warehousing and trucking providers, expediting customs clearance and arranging final delivery.
Mr. Anirudha Roy, Business Development Manager at Dimerco’s New Delhi office, comments, “We provided a highly customized service, including daily status updates and an experienced team from Dimerco providing onsite support throughout the process. This contributed to our customer’s confidence in Dimerco and demonstrated our commitment and ability to deliver a successful solution. Mahindra & Mahindra were well satisfied with our service.”
Dimerco is growing strongly in India and operates in 18 locations across the sub-continent, including owned offices in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Dimerco Express Group was named ‘Emerging Supply Chain Provider’ by India Cargo Awards (West & South) and one of the Top 5 Freight Forwarders for inbound volume at Chennai Air Cargo Complex by Airports of Authority of India (AAI) in 2016. Dimerco was twice awarded the title of Airfreight Forwarder of the Year in both 2016 and 2017 by Air Cargo Week.
