Bajaj Auto Limited, ‘The World’s Favourite Indian’ has acquired leadership position in the three-wheeler cargo segment with Maxima C reaching a 45% market share in Apr 21 – Nov 21 period. This has been achieved in 6 years from launch, a rare feat in the automobile industry.
This competitive gain has accelerated post Bajaj Auto Ltd. launched innovatively designed
BS6 products, meeting emission norms and yet are simple to maintain while retaining their advantages of best-in-class reliability, power packed performance and fuel efficiency. Maxima C has gained traction in both urban and rural markets, thanks to these strong product attributes.
The transition from Diesel to CNG products where Bajaj is an undisputed leader for a long time has also helped Bajaj achieve this leadership position. The lower operating costs of CNG have become even more advantageous in recent times and therefore the market is shifting towards CNG products as a viable buying option. Key market developments like, recent growth of e-commerce and last mile transportation due to a revival of economic activities in rural India has helped the category to grow.
Speaking about the success of the Maxima Cargo, Mr. Samardeep Subandh, President, Intra-City Business, said, “Bajaj Maxima C’s unmatched product strengths of reliability, power and frugality coupled with Bajaj Auto’s strong financing strength, Dealer Network and manufacturing ability have ensured quick scale up of the proposition even during the tough pandemic time. First time buyers across the country have also chosen the Maxima C because of the trust that the Bajaj name has established over the period.”
It is available in two fuel variants – CNG and Diesel. The CNG variant of Maxima C has a powerful engine which provides 7.30 kw power at 4750 rpm. The diesel variant is powered by a 470.5 cc engine that gives a power of 6.74 kw at 3400 rpm and a torque of 23.18 Nm at 2000 rpm. The higher payload capacity of vehicle helps it to take heavy loads like LPG cylinders and building material in difficult terrains. The sturdy power suspension and hydraulic shock absorbers gives it the freedom to carry fragile goods without any worry of damage.
